That headline is my favorite headline of my blogging career. And you should know that I have been blogging since I was 10, which was… well, I won’t tell you exactly when that was.
But Britney Spears is free!!!!!!! Britney has been freed from her abusive conservatorship. Hall-leh-fuckin-leu-liah!!!!!!!!
For those of us who have been active members of the #FreeBritney movement, whether on the ground in LA outside the courthouse or elsewhere in the world raising awareness, today is a day of relief, release, and rejoicing.
For Britney Spears this day marks her freedom from an archaic system that abused and used her as a cashcow. They forced her to work, they overmedicated her, misdiagnosed her (with certainty in my opinion), controlled her finances, tampered with her mind, and took control over her person.
A good lawyer makes all the difference.
The second I laid eyes on Rosengart I knew that termination of the conservatorship was inevitable. I honestly felt it everywhere in my gut. I felt it so strongly that when I saw the Britney Law Army tweet today as I was sitting on my bed, I had a sense of knowing, not even shock of any of kind. I knew once he entered the game.
To be honest, I always thought and knew that we had a very strong chance of pushing the needle on this cause and winning, soon. Britney CHANGED THE GAME when she spoke on June 23rd, 2021 at her hearing. Her voice was what was so powerful. Ain’t that interesting.
Patients’ voices are stolen the instant they are forcibly pushed into the mental health system and then held in a stronghold by the legal system until something shifts.
The voicemail was a shift.
Britney speaking was a shift.
Rosengart was a shift.
Today shut shit down.
Next up?
Britney gets to live her life on her own terms, and in an ideal world we respect her privacy as much as humanly possible. This woman has been exploited in ways that both the public knows about and cannot even imagine.
If we have learned anything, it is that we are all human beings worthy of our personal autonomy and freedom. Period.
Britney regained her freedom today. Today was a good day.
#FreeBritney movement, y’all are rockstars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every single last one of you.
Today is fucking victory.
The marriage between the mental health and legal systems are about to get a divorce.
